J Gould House Monson NH

J Gould House Monson NH, originally uploaded by rockymt98.

Last standing building in what was once Monson NH. This house was restored in 1998 by the Dickerman's and is today used a small museum.

Monson lost it's charter 1770 and was divided in to what is now Milford, Hollis, Amherst and Brookline NH.

Hard to believe this valuable piece of NH history and solitude is only minutes away form busy Rt101A and Rt 3.

Once the "Main Street" of Monson NH. between 1746 and 1770 there were as many as a dozen homes in the vicinity of this photograph. Today only one restored building remains as a museum of sorts.
