Everyone needs a couple of friends to rely on and we would all be lucky if Dexter considered us to be his friend.
I suspect that he does!
We New Hampshire-based photographers continue to capture, both night and day, the mist that results from the dew point exceeding the temperature in the waning days of Autumn.

The Great Ice Storm of 2008 leaves an indelible mark on the residents of New Hampshire and north western Massachusetts to the degree that references are part of our daily dialog.
Those of us who lived here through the Great Ice Storm compare notes of where we were, the damage caused, what we did until the lights came back on, and in my case, how much damage remains to be cleaned up on our properties.
A few other meteorological events equal the ice storm. The Great Hurricane of 1938 reportedly twisted trees so badly throughout New England that the bark pattern spirals even yet today on trees that were saplings during the hurricane.
New Hampshire has another claim to meteorological fame in the weather observatory atop Mount Washington that recorded the highest wind speed ever recorded by man.
The 231 mile per hour wind speed occurred on April 12, 1934 or four years prior to the Great Hurricane and over 70 years prior to the Great Ice Storm.

Nothing Gold Can Stay by Robert Frost
Nature's first green is gold

In the spring and summer, we can stop and smell the roses.
However, in the fall before the onset of winter, we ought to stop and enjoy the foliage.
New Hampshire is a photographers dream, because we have seacoast, rolling hills, mountains, evergreens, and hardwoods to name some of the beautiful features in our state that we capture through our lenses.
We also have history here that is deep for America that includes Colonial architecture and covered bridges.
The NH Group in Flickr has many projects that focus on various features of New Hampshire. Our projects include NH Waterfalls, New Hampshire Historical Markers, NH Cupolas, Steeples, and Vanes, and NH Covered Bridges that could include the wonderful covered bridge in Lancaster featured above.
A few of us from the NH Group in Flickr drove through the White Mountains yesterday capturing the fall foliage through our lenses.
Matt wasn't with us, but there were many photographers capturing the beauty like you see in his photo.
Two women that were on a leaf peeper tour bus gave us encouragement, 'Keep on taking pictures!'
When we see beautiful foliage like this in New Hampshire, we're inspired to head into the great outdoors.

The chilly days of October are a clear sign that the Keene pumpkin festival is just around the corner.
This annual event attracts over 70,000 people to see nearly 30,000 pumpkins displayed throughout the sidewalks and open spaces in Keene, NH.
Organizers estimate that since the first pumpkin festival 19 years ago, there have been nearly 300,000 pumpkins displayed.
After a long hiatus for personal reasons, I am honored to once again post a photo every week from the NH Group in Flickr to the NH Photo Tour.
This time of the year is exciting for photographers due to the emerging color and the temperature and humidity differentials that produce early-morning fog like you see here in Nottingham, NH.
We photographers buzz with excited discussion asking questions like, 'How far south is the foliage? Want to go to the Kank (or Kancamagus Highway)? There should be fog tomorrow, right?'
Enjoy the ride with us as we use our lenses to demonstrate how beautiful New Hampshire is in the autumn.
