As we drove down Rt 25 in Warren, NH (I think it was) we saw a small sign that said "Old Man of the Dam Profile". It is all by itself on the edge of the road....nothing around it but this small ledge. (There is a dam about 1/4 mile south on the other side of the road but it can't be seen from the sign.)
I just had to stop to take a pic of the sign. I got out the passenger side and did my thing. My hubby is still in the driver's seat and is asking me if I could see the man in the ledge. When I got to his angle I could.
we had driven by there many times and never noticed it before.

A long time ago when I was in girl scouts we used to march in the Memorial Day parade. We would carry lilacs to put on some of the graves in the two cemeteries that we visited.

There was hardly a cloud in the sky today; perfect for a 2 hour photo walk to test the new lens.

While going through the photos from the day, I realized I try a lot of these types of shots: composing the shot using the radiance of the light source directly. I do it with both the sun and the moon, and I never thought about it until I was working on this at home.

The weird part is I don't know where I got the idea from.

The Pink Lady Slipper
Cypridedium Acaule

This showy little flower grows 6 to 15 inches tall. It's bloom time is from April to July, and if you walk into the woods a bit you can see this flower in all it's glory.

So, if you see a Pink Lady Slipper, or ANY Lady Slipper keep the Myth alive. Take a picture and leave the flower alone. Save them for another generation to enjoy.
