they came from the lake

they came from the lake, originally uploaded by Ben Kimball.

mid-pack swimmers at the end of the swim in the Timberman sprint triathlon at Lake Winnipesaukee, NH on 8/21/2010. the entire swim was pretty shallow, but it was especially shallow on this final leg in to shore (personally I think I'd have tried to swim all the way in).

Bull Hill Gazebo

Bull Hill Gazebo, originally uploaded by irishnh.

This gazebo, located until just recently on Bull Hill, was also on the Waterville Valley golf course. It has been the site of the annual fireworks show at midnight every New Years for 40+ years now. Because of real estate development this gazebo was recently moved to another spot and totally restored by the kind donation of a local year round resident. She dedicated it to the memory of her husband. Although the gazebo has moved it still hosts the midnight fireworks every New Years.

Spring, on a Log

Spring, on a Log, originally uploaded by Melissadilla.

Spring rain intensifies the colors of moss and fungus on a wet log. Oh, and makes for raging streams.

The Sky Breaks...

The Sky Breaks..., originally uploaded by Melissadilla.

This is my favorite on the day from my trip up to Tucks. I was crossing the lowest wooden bridge over the Cutler River on the way down, and the sky was reflected perfectly. I think the surface of the water looks like metal, and I'm totally digging that log.
